Online Seminar for Teachers

Creative Teaching Methods

To create a positive learning environment, all the students need more experience with the games aiming to use their different senses and abilities. This seminar will guide you to create your own teaching materials, to look from a wider perspective, and how to add movement and games whilst teaching music.

We will be playing with the elements of music, exploring the ideas of music, understanding the form of music, studying creative music and movement improvisation.

Each seminar will have a different subject and focus.

Music Theory Lessons

Online or Face to Face, Music Theory Lessons for students at any age

To get to a higher grade practical exam, such as grade 6,7 or 8 in Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music exams, a pass in grade 5 Theory is one of the routes. Although, Theory Studies start from the very beginning of piano education, we need an intense term focusing on Theory to pass the exam successfully. In Music Theory lessons, I introduce the subject, we do some exercises together, and I give more exercises as homework. The students send me photos of their homework papers so that I check them before the next lesson. Towards the end of the course, we focus on practising using previous years' exams, and we apply for the exam when we really know the result will be successful.

Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced 60 Minutes

Online or Face to Face, 60 minute Piano Lessons

Young Beginners; If lessons twice a week is not possible, then a weekly 60-minute lesson may be suitable, if it will work for the child.

Adult Beginners, a 60-minute lesson is always best for adult beginners.

Intermediate or Advanced, we usually have a lot to fit in the lesson such as technical studies, performance studies, music theory, music history, and repertoire etc. in intermediate and advanced level lessons, that's why, 60-minute lessons are preferred for higher grades.

Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced 45 Minutes

Online or Face to Face, 45 Minute Piano Lessons

Longer than 30 minutes, shorter than 60 minutes!

Everybody has different needs in terms of learning, so I also offer 45-minute lessons to develop your talents. Especially, when it is best to see each other twice a week, you can go for 45-minute lessons which will give us a good enough time to warm up, to clear up, and to sight-read something new. It works quite well to have the lessons twice a week, if you do not have enough time to practise alone, or  until you learn how to practise by yourself!

Young Beginners

Online or Face to Face, 30 Minute Piano Lessons for Young Beginners who are aged between 5 and 8

I recommend splitting the lesson into two half-hour slots per week with my young beginners. Considering a five year old child's focusing duration, it is best for them to keep the lessons shorter. Although my young beginners who are aged between 5-8, have achieved a lot by doing this, regardless of the age, I believe it would work quite well for anyone has an interest in learning to play the piano. For the absolute beginners, we aim to reach ABRSM Prep Test level, we study with different piano methods, and play lots of duets to ensure enjoyment of the lesson whilst understanding the pulse and the rules of making music together.
